for self defense it would be the martial arts. For excercise and fun it would be drill team and dance. However both can be fun and great excercise, so I feel this is more of something you are most into.If possible do them all
In the long run, self defense is more important than twirlling around. You might not use self defense in everyday scenarios but when you do need it, you would be thankful for knowing it. Drill team and dancing would be the girl thing to do while martial arts would be the boy thing to do, but you could always do a boys’ thing and meet boys.
It depends. Both require extreme muscle control, balance, and flexibility. Martial arts is more about following tradition and self defense, whereas dance can be about expressing yourself and drill team is more upbeat and peppy. I think that especially for those from an Asian background, martial arts would probably be valued more due to tradition and customs. I think dance can be valued by any culture. I would say dance because that is what I do, but I think it’s up to each personto decide.
Why can’t the individual learn both? I mean, everybody thinks that dancers are weak little things until they kick your eyeball out.
I value both equally. I have done Ju-Jitsu, Hanbo-Jutsu and Tap dancing, and I will be doing more dancing this Summer and Fall. I find everything I have done important, and I have done both, Martial Arts, and Dance.

Depends if you are into self defense or cheering I would say.

Well, it really depends on who you are asking.

I enjoy dance more though.
